Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering
Islamic Azad University, Iran
Thesis: Energy-Efficient Spatial Layout Based on POE Model Using GANs Algorithm — Elementary Schools of Tehran. GPA 4.0 / 4.0 · Thesis graded Excellent (19.5/20).

Dr. Marjan Ilbeigi is an architect and computational design researcher based in Muscat, Oman, and the founder of MADA, a research & innovation company.
She holds a Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering, where her doctoral research used post-occupancy evaluation and generative adversarial networks to design energy-efficient school layouts. Her work spans energy simulation, zero-carbon design, artificial intelligence in architecture, heritage retrofit, and the psychology of how people perceive buildings.
Since 2016 she has taught architecture and sustainable design at universities in Iran and Oman, led curriculum development that brought digital tools and sustainability into the studio, and mentored a new generation of designers. She currently teaches at the Scientific College of Design and works on research at Sultan Qaboos University.
Her research has been published in journals including Sustainable Cities and Society, Journal of Building Engineering, Scientific Reports and Results in Engineering. She serves as a reviewer for more than ten international journals and was selected as an independent scientific reviewer for the UN Global Sustainable Development Report 2027.
“Think beyond limitations. Explore new possibilities. Turn ideas into opportunities. Create value that lasts.”
A strong vision is not simply an ambitious statement about the future. It is a starting point for action — it gives direction, informs decisions, and creates a framework through which ideas are tested.
Asking questions, challenging assumptions and exploring alternatives — balanced with the rigour to examine, refine and connect ideas to real needs.
Meaningful progress rarely happens in isolation. Different perspectives reveal dimensions of a problem that would otherwise remain overlooked.
