Jewellery Gallery at Masoudieh Palace

Contemporary architecture in a historic setting.

Jewellery Gallery at Masoudieh Palace

This project explores the relationship between contemporary architecture and cultural heritage through the design of a 1,500 m² jewellery gallery within the historic setting of Masoudieh Palace in Tehran. The proposal introduces a cultural destination intended to attract visitors and encourage engagement with the heritage complex.

The architectural concept centres on a dialogue between old and new. Angular forms, intersecting structural lines, and glazed surfaces establish a contemporary identity while maintaining a clear distinction from the historic buildings. The design seeks to respect the palace’s architectural character without reproducing its decorative language.

Organised across four levels, the gallery connects exhibition areas with visitor facilities and supporting spaces. Circulation forms part of the exhibition experience, linking internal spaces with views towards the historic surroundings.

Pathways, planting, and outdoor gathering areas extend the architectural proposal into the landscape, creating opportunities for viewing jewellery, social interaction, and experiencing the heritage site.

The project proposes a contemporary addition that supports the cultural life of Masoudieh Palace while preserving the identity of its historic setting.
